Government Polytechnic Palanpur was established in the year 1984. The Government of Gujarat alloted 20 Acres of land on which stands the majestic & sprawling Govt. Polytechnic campus. This institute started in the year 1984 with two diploma level Engineering courses (Civil and Electrical) for the development of border area district after that in the year 1989 one course Mechanical Engineering and in the year 1994 another two courses have been started (E&C ENGG, I&C ENGG) for the advancement in technology. Now days this college has more than 511 students with 72 faculty members and other supporting staff.
