Surveying Lab

Surveying takes the foremost place in planning, designing and execution of any kind of construction work. Moreover, knowledge in surveying plays a vital role in the professional practice of civil engineers and architects. The survey lab Consists instrument of Total station, Electronic theodolite, Transit theodolite, Dumpy levels, Plane tables, Compass etc.

Basic of Transportation Engineering LAB

The laboratory of transportation engineering in the civil department is well equipped with all the required instruments and equipment that are helpful in the overall understanding and practical knowledge of a student.
The various Equipment available in the laboratory are Aggregate Impact , Bitumen Penetration testing machine, Dorry’s Abrasion Testing, Marshall Stability Apparatus, Ring and Ball , Fire and flash point, Los Angles Abrasion testing machine, Deval’s Attrition and Ductility. The various materials test can be carried out to find the properties of aggregate and bitumen.
The test for aggregate includes
• Aggregate Impact value
• Deval abrasion test
• Los-Angles test
• Attrition test.

The test for bitumen includes
• Specific gravity
• Bitumen penetration
• Ductility test
• Viscosity test
• Softening point
• Flash point and fire point
