Labs


Applied Mechanics Lab
The objective of this laboratory is to verify the basic principles in the  area of Engineering  Mechanics for Diploma Engineering students through a series of experiments.
      The department has well equipped Applied Mechanics lab having following Apparatus/ Equipments :
• Universal force table and force board.
• Reaction of Beam apparatus.
•  Apparatus for Centroid of lamina.
• Friction apparatus.
• Simple Screw jack.
• Simple Wheel and axle.
• Single purchase winch crab
• Double purchase winch crab

Structural Mechanics & Strength of Materials laboratory
The aim of this laboratory is to measure the material properties like Tensile Strength, Compressive Strength, Young’s Modulus Toughness, Hardness, Shear Strength etc.
  This lab is engaged with carries out structural deformation properties of the various elements like Moment of inertia of fly wheel, Deflection of the Beam and demonstration of the various end conditions of column.
         This lab is well equipped with Structural Mechanics & Strength of Materials laboratory having following Apparatus/ Equipments :
• Universal Testing Machine (U.T.M.)
• Compression Testing Machine(C.T.M.)
• Universal Impact Machine.
• Searl’s Apparatus.
• Fly wheel for Moment of Inertia.
• Deflection of Beam Apparatus
Soil Mechanics Laboratory
The objective of this laboratory is to determine various Index properties of Soil like Moisture content, Bulk and Dry density, Specific Gravity, Gradation, Consistency limits, Permeability, Shear strength and Compaction parameters.
      SOIL MECHANICS laboratory is having following Apparatus/ Equipments to achieve its objectives :
• Core cutter and  Sand Replacement apparatus
• Pycnometer bottle
• I.S. sieve sets
• Casagrande Liquid limit apparatus
• Permeability Apparatus
• Automatic compactor
• Oven
CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY and  BUILDING  MATERIALS LABORATORY
The core objective of this laboratory is to  assess the properties of the various materials used in the construction work. The physical properties  of the various building materials like Cement, Brick, Aggregate is assessed in this lab. Properties of Fresh and hardened concrete is also assessed at CT and BM Lab.
    The department has well equipped CONCRETE TECHNOLOGY laboratory having following apparatus/ Equipments :
• Vicat apparatus
• Le-chatelier’s Apparatus
• I.S. Sieve set
• Length and Thickness Gauge
• Aggregate Impact Testing machine
• Aggregate crushing value test  apparatus
• Los angeles abrasion testing machine
• Slump cone and compacting factor test apparatus
• Compression Testing Machine ( C.T.M.)
• Rebound Hammer for N.D.T.
• Cement and concrete cube moulds
